Our New Addition.....

This is one of Cameron's Christmas presents. He was so excited he cried. And guess what he named her, "Marley". I just hope she does not act like Marley. And the best part of all we got her from the pound. She looks like a Border Collie, but the mother was a German Shepard, Lab mix. So I guess the daddy was a Border Collie. The kids are just ecstatic.

Go Santa Go! Go Santa Go!!

That is what my daughter was saying as we watched this site: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/index.html

I am trying to embed the code so you can watch the you tube video, but I am a little tech challenged here. I just love this site. It is so fun to watch Norad track Santa!! It is an easy way to get the kids in bed when he hits the east coast here.

And for my Austrailian friends I hear he comes your way first.

Happy Christmas Layout

I have just been having some fun scrapping in the Christmas spirit. I have to admit that scrapping layouts for Christmas is a challenge for me. It seems to get a bit monotonous. KWIM? Does anyone else feel this way? So I decided to just take some inspiration from the photos themselves. Hence the Christmas tree. It is fun taking photos though of the kids. My little girl is enjoying Christmas so much and it is so fun to see the enjoyment in their faces.

This is a close up of the poinsettias with an custom brad made using my Itop. I tried something a little different with this brad and it worked well. I used one of the "snow flake" stickers from the sheet of "Tinsel Trims" foil stickers. I have to say that I was quite please with how it turned out. Then I topped if of with a "bling fling" jewel.

After cutting a tree out with my Cricut, I used the Christmas lights from the "Season's Stringings" border rubons. Then I decorated with some of the "Holidays Trimmings" and adhered some journaling.

Products used were: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned papers, chipboard sticker, foil stickers, ribbon, rubons, Itop brad maker, bling: Imaginisce; pen: Copic.
Thanks for looking.

Cute & Easy Little Christmas Gift

Well here is another easy, little gift that could be given to a coworker or neighbor. I have featured the Polar Expressions line by Imaginisce. Not only is this gift easy and quick, but you are going "Green" by using the packing of the chipboard stickers.

First I got a pack of the Polar Expressions "Warm Wishes" chipboard stickers and mounted them on the packaging insert to take away the "sticky" back and trimmed around the edges. Next, I cut some small pieces of adhesive magnetic material and stacked two pieces on the back of each sticker.

Then I inked the edges of the chipboard stickers with my Copic markers and added a little "Bling Fling" to embellish the front of the sticker, just a bit. And now the refrigerator magnets are finished.

I placed the magnets in a cute little box that I made out of two pieces of the double sided papers.

I took left over strips from the paper that I just used to make the box and I cute the edges with a decorated wavy blade from my Purple Cows cutter and crossed the strips on the top of the box to simulate a tied ribbon. And lastly I embellished two poinsettias flowers with a custom made brad from my I-top and adhered it to the top of the box.

And that was it. This was a super easy gift that would be perfect for a teacher, coworker or even a neighbor. I hope you enjoyed it.

Products used: Patterned Papers, flowers, Bling, brad & brad maker: Imainisce; Trimmer: Purple Cows; Adhesive: Glue Dots International; Copic markers.

Home made Christmas ornaments

I was feeling a little crafty tonight and I decided to try something that I don't do very much, stamp. So the way I see this is, if I can do this project then you can. I have been wanting to try and make my own gifts this year and this is one thing that I came up with. I decorated my own ornaments. It was really fairly simple.

So here is the tutorial. I hope you enjoy it.

First I had to overcome the fact that I was going to have to stamp on a curved surface. I do not have a curved acrylic block so since the Snag em stamps from Imaginisce are easy to bend I decided to just use my hand to stamp the image on the glass ornament. But now I had to figure out a way to hold the glass ornament still. So with necessity the mother of invention I used my daughter's play doh to hold the ornament still while I stamped on it. Worked like a charm!

After I stamped the images with Stazon ink and let them dry I colored in a little with my Copic markers and then brushed the ornaments with glitter glaze.

While I was letting the ornaments dry I wrapped the holiday trims around the handle of a basket.

After the ornaments had dried I tied a ribbon on the top of the ornament for decoration.

Next, I decorated the front and back of the basket handle with a couple of the Polar Expressions poinsettias and finished them off with a brad made with my I-top.

And now the finished gift basket of ornaments.

This little gift basket was easy and fairly quick to make. I hope this inspires you to make some of your gifts this year.
Products used: Patterned paper (grass in basket), ribbon, stamps, poinsettias, I-top brad maker all by Imaginisce; Ink: Stazon; Copic markers; Glitter Glaze: Making Memories; Basket: Micheal's.

The Beauty You See

This is a layout that I did a while ago, but I don't think I have ever posted it. I remember this day as we were running out the door to go to a Tball game (or maybe it was practice, not sure) and my son Jake stopped me and said, "Mommy look how beautiful". He was looking at the agapanthus blooming in our front yard. And as an avid scrapbooker, I already had my camera with me (to take pictures of the game) and so I snapped away. If he had not have stopped me then I would have missed them all together. This is the reason I scrapbook. I want to remember the everyday moments for years to come. Hope you enjoy it.

Products used: Stamps, patterned papers, die cuts, transparency and large journaling card: Fancy Pants Designs; Chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp for Advantus; Ink: Ranger.

You're so Sweet Imaginisce Card

Okay, so if you have not guessed yet, I did try out for the Imaginsce Design Team. I would absolutely LOVE to be on that team. And as another surprise, they featured me on their blog again!!! I was so excited to see that. They had sent me some goodies as a thank you for featuring my School Album on their blog and I made a layout and this card with those goodies. I sent it to them to see and it showed up on their blog again!!!!

This is a card that I made with some of the goodies that they sent. Printed papers, ribbon and cardstock chipboard sticker are the Perfectly Posh line, the cardstock is Bazzill and the acrylic cherries are Buzz and Bloom.

I am telling you this card took all of 10 minutes to make. Super simple.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! And keep your fingers crossed for me. ;)

Imaginisce School Album

This is another project that I did for creativexpress.com. We had a free assignment except we had to focus on a cartridge. I picked the Locker Talk cartridge. It is really full of alot of school type icons.

For as long as I can remember I have been needing to scrapbook school photos. So I took this opportunity to make an album. Yes, it was alot of work, but well worth it in the end. I choose the Imaginisce "Teacher's Pet" line to do this project with. I have to say that I absolutely LOVE this line. If you come across it somewhere you better scoop it up because it is no longer in production.

On the inside of the album I just have some of the standard school photos along with the year title cut and a pocket for the yearly report card.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the album.

3rd time is the charm?

Well maybe, let's hope. Two peas in a bucket is having a Cricut contest. And if you know me at all you just know how much I love my Cricut. So this is the third and final week of the contest and here is my entry. I originally designed this purse for creativexpress.com. I really enjoyed altering this little chipboard purse and my Cricut along with the Disney Tinkerbell and Friends cart did it wonders. The Doodlebug papers really made a nice touch as well.

So, be sure to check out the latest Cricut Promotion, The Great Gypsy Escape! Purchase one of 4 new Cricut catridges for a chance to win a new Gyspy (handheld design studio for Cricut), $2,000 travel vouchers and even a $30,000 trip to one of 5 fabulous locations!

Cricut to the Rescue!!!

We celebrated my daughter's birthday a couple of weekends ago. And due to money being tight, I opted to make her cake instead of getting one at a local bakery. While I was decorating her cake, I ran out of icing. So what to do? Hmmmm.....Cricut to the rescue!! I whipped out the big bug and promptly cut out a Happy Birthday sentiment and a few accents. Then I embellished with a little bling. I do wish I would have taken the photo sooner, because the paper was soaking up some of the grease from the icing. Any suggestions for that? (And yes, we did take the paper off before we cut the cake).

So without my trusty ole' Cricut the poor birthday cake would have been very plain.

Sweet Strawberries

This is one of my last projects that I did for creativexpress.com. In fact it is also one of my favorites. I took these pictures of my daughter eating strawberries. I embellished almost this entire layout with my Cricut Expression. I just love that machine. Thanks creativexpress.com for giving me one. I just love it!

Anyway, the only premade items on it are the bling. The rest are items cut from my cricut. Products used are BoBunny dotted cardstocks (pink, blue, green), Bazzill swiss dotted cardstock (red), Doodlebug patterned papers, Cricut Indie Art cartridge (Strawberry), Cricut Simply Sweet Cartridge (alphabets), and Cricut Calligraphy cartridge (vines). I also used the branches embossing plate from cuttlebug. Bling is from Kaisercraft.

And I also want to tell you about an awesome contest that Cricut is having right now. I would love to win one of these vouchers. And I believe the Simply Sweet alphabet cartridge os one of the ones that might have a voucher in it.

A little "Fancy" Project to share

I thought I would get back into the swing of things by participating in a challenge posted on one of my favorite manufacturer's blogs, Fancy Pants. Their challenge was to make any type of school related project. It could be a layout, card or even a gift for a teacher. I could not think of a better gift to give a teacher than a photo cube. This photo cube could also double as a paper weight. Actually it is a gift that could be given for anything or to anyone. I just try to think of personal gifts for my kids' teachers that don't have to do with school. So here is my entry. I hope you like it!

Products used are: Patterned paper and chipboard pieces by Fancy Pants, photo cube by Kaisercraft and Adhesives by Trimcraft.

The GOOD and the BAD........

So the good...yesterday was my 15 year wedding anniversary. If you would have asked me 20 years ago if I would have envisioned myself being married for 15 years I would have said no way. But I was wrong.

And now the BAD..........I did not make the Creative Xpress DT again. I am so disappointed. I hate the feeling that my projects are not good enough in someone's eyes. Part of me wants to know "why" but then the other part of me says "you can't handle the truth". See in my misery I can still crack a joke. Sigh.........

The First Day of School....

Yes, already!! Can you believe it?! I feel kind of empty this morning. I really have enjoyed the summer with the boys. Sigh. I was looking at them yesterday after they got their haircuts and they are so grown up now.

So here is a picture of Jake on the first day of school. He is always ready for a photo:

And now one of Cameron:

Guess that is what you get when you are dealing with a "tween". Sigh. Hopefully he will have a good day. I think he was pretty nervous about school starting. He barely ate his breakfas.
I miss them both. And I think Charlotte does too.

"It's a Jungle" Door Hanger

This is another one of my projects for CreativeXpress (http://www.creativexpress.com/) that I had to do for May. My assignment was to use the "Wild Things" collection by Imaginisce. I made this door hanger. The door hanger could be used on a door or perhaps a party decoration. I also made it 12x12 so after it's use on the "door" or party decoration it could be placed in a scrapbook album with photos on it. Products used are: Imaginisce "Wild Things" collection, Life is a Beach Cricut Cartridge, Animal Kingdom Cricut cartridge, chipboard, Doodlebug flocked brads and Bazzill cardstocks.
Enjoy!

Back from CHA and vacation

Whew! I always say that I am going to be able to enjoy CHA and not feel so rushed, but like always it was work, work, work. But scrapbooking work is fun, so I still had fun. I even taught my first scrapbooking class. I think there was about 24 or 25. I think it went okay. The class was for Glitz designs (http://www.glitzitnow.com/). I taught (4) 8x8 layouts made out of the Hot Mama line. It was fun. One of my students was from Madagascar. And she looked about 8 months pregnant. Can you imagine?

Here are a few photos. Keep in mind they are from my iphone and I was in a hurry. The class was over so the girls were packing up. Like I said, it was my first scrapbooking class to ever teach and I have learned a little from this. (Like how much prep is involved). I think it went very well though.

Very sad...

My mother-in-law passed away last night. I will miss her. I still can't believe it all. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
I know in my heart she is in Heaven now.

Kilimonjaro Safari

This month's assignment for CreativeXpress (www.creativexpress.com) was for me to use the "Wild Things" paper collection by Imaginisce. I had some photos that I took of the Kilimonjaro Safari at Disney World so I thought it would go perfect with the paper and the Life is a Beach cricut cartridge. And yes, I stayed true to my form this month and did my double page layout with multiple photos. (And I could not resist the flamingos. Aren't they cute?).

Products used were: Cricut "Life is a Beach", "Hello Kitty Font" & "Tags, Bags, boxes & More" carts, Imaginsce "Wild Things" collection, Bazzill cardstocks & Design Studio by Cricut (to weld the word "safari").
