Imaginisce "jewerly" box

Here is a little "jewelry" box that I made for my daughter. It is actually supposed to be a ribbon holder by Kaisercraft. It was pretty simple to make and I just love putting things together then decorating them.

First all I did was put the box together (with glue and clamps) and then painted it. The paint I used was the household wall paint that I had used to paint the walls in my daughter's room. Keep this in mind the next time you paint a room. Save your leftover paint and you can use it to paint home decor pieces and they will match perfectly.

Ater the paint dried I put some of the Lucy Bird border rubons along the bottom edge and on the back part of the lid.

Then I made a covered brad with my I-top brad maker and put it on a matching flower. My husband had drilled a small hole in the lid and I put the brad through the lid.

And that is it. I have some of my daughter's hair clips in the box instead of jewelry. I even put a piece of the printed cardstock in the slots of the box so I can put other smaller hair clips in the front part so they are easy to find.

This did take a little time to assemble the box and the glue and the paint drying time, but it was pretty simple and it matches her room perfectly.
