Another Local Scrapbook Store Closing.......

Yes, it is true and very sad. A dear friend of mine opened up Scrapbook & Co. in August of 2006 in Baton Rouge, LA and yesterday she announced that she is closing her store. The economy is really taking it's toll here. She will we opened for one more week.

Here is her blog post from yesterday:

Yes, I'm afraid so...Scrapbook & Co., LLC, is CLOSING, and soon!

We are selling EVERYTHING, that means paper racks, tables, chairs, display fixtures, the cute rugs, even the pretty pictures in the bathroom. (Sorry, if I don't laugh, I'll cry.)

If you currently possess a gift certificate, the balance of a gift certificate, or a store credit, HURRY IN for the best selection! If you know someone that does, please forward this email to them - I want them to USE it!!

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 28th, 10am/6p

40% off STORE WIDE (no checks)

Special Store Hours

Monday, Aug 30th thru Saturday, Sept 4th

9am to 8pm
So if you are in the area, go support her and tell Denise hi.  If the capital city of Louisiana can't support one local scrapbook store, then is there hope for the others? I hope so. Say a prayer that we all come out of this recession okay.

I know it has been a while

Sorry for the long break. The kids are now back in school and we are finally settling down a bit here. And I have not even scrapped for weeks now. Talk about going through withdrawals!!!

So anyway, this will be a short post. I just wanted to point out that Imaginisce is on "Good Things Utah" today. So if you're local to Utah, be sure to tune in to channel 4 at 11:00am. And for those of you not local, Imaignisce will post the video clip back in this post on the blog later today. The segment is going to be by Brett Lund and he is doing a feature on the I-rock tool and using it on Christmas Cards using the Cottage Christmas collection.

And if you want to win some free goodies check out the blog post on the Just Imagine! blog to see how you can win.

Good luck!!

Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

Well, this post is a day late, but none the less, it is here. Imaginisce is having their monthly sketch challenge on the Just Imagine! blog. This month's sketch is by DT member Sarah de Guzman. It is an easy sketch to follow and you can bust the layout (or card) out in probably 30 minutes or less.

Here is what I did with the sketch:

I used the Apple Cider collection on this layout. I had previously done a similar one with the same picture. In fact the die cut scalloped paper is from the left overs of this layout. And the beauty of having two kids in the same picture is that I can make a similar layout for each of their books.

And here is the sketch itself:

And if you play along check out and see what is up for grabs.  Try out the sketch for yourself and you could win $75.00 worth of product (tools and/or paper). Create a card or layout using 75% IMAGINSCE PRODUCTS and Sarah's July Sketch for inspiration before August 25th.

Post your sketch on your blog or online gallery AND then come back to this post and list your link via Mr. Linky. (Please make sure you link to the post with your layout and not just your blog). The Imaginisce team will select a winner to be featured on the Just Imagine! blog at the end of the month. And of course, that means you could win your choice of the i-top Tool package, i-rock package or a $75 prize Collection package!
And for another chance to win:  Just HOP ON OVER to the Design Team blogs (links are in my side bar) to see what they did with the sketch. Remember, leave one comment on as many of the blogs (and Imaginisce) as you like and you'll have multiple chances to win a prize package of Imaginisce goodies. The winner will be announced on the Imaginisce blog on August 9th. Enjoy!
