3 Crazy Kids

When did it happen? I look at pictures of myself and yuck!! Yes, the camera does add 10 lbs right? So I am making a new years resolution early. Work out, eat better. And to have no regrets. To take chances. And to smile more. Really. In all of these pictures that I am in, I am rarely smiling. What is up with that?

Okay, so enough of that. Today's post will be short. I have to rock a party in the preK class at school this morning and pick the boys up from school. Apparently the school thinks they need to get off half a day of school when they have mid terms. To do what? Study? Right, how about melt their brains on the computer.

Here is another layout that I made for my Worldwin Cardstock application. I used their new line of the paper layerz diecutable cardstock. I also used my itop punch for the punched pieces.

It is a pretty simple layout of the kids. It is pictures of a typical day at our house, but that is what I like to scrapbook.

That is all for now. I have about 18 prekers waiting to make some Christmas stockings today.

Adorable Make Up Girl...

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving (for my stateside readers anyway). I did. We had a nice dinner with my immediate family and my brother. The grandparents (my parents) were out of town visiting their extended family (aunts, uncles and cousins). So I was thankful for my brother to be here with us.

Today I am off from work and I have no pressure to clean the house or cook or do anything in particular. It feels a little weird. I feel like I should be doing something. So today, after I do a few loads of laundry, I am going to start cleaning out my scrapbook stash. It really is time to purge. I will be making another page to this blog with the items I am selling and you can just post a comment or email me if you would like to buy something. Everything will be priced to sell quickly and I will only charge you exact shipping. So stayed tuned for that.

My layout for today is a double page layout that I had published in a F&W publishing book.

Yes, this is my little girl getting into my makeup and making a huge mess with the eye shadow. I used and older Imaginisce line called Early Bird. It was a very colorful and "girly" line so I thought it was perfect for the pictures.

A new look and a new layout...

Hey everyone. I know it has been a while. I tool a break and now I am back to blogging and scrapping again.

A lot has happened over the past few months. All three of my kids are in school now. I am a little sad but that is life. I am the youngest's room mother in her class so I keep very busy with the pre-kindergarten kids, I am now working full time and oh yea....I decided to try out for an awesome manufacturer design team and I MADE IT!!! I am so excited!! It is Worldwin Cardstock and they have the BEST cardstock I have come across. Not only do they have textured cardstock with many different textures, but they have also developed a line of paper just for the die cut machines called CutMates. It works fantastic on my Cricut.

So anyway, I would like to share a layout that I made specifically for the Worldwin DT call.

The is the entire layout. Every paper on it is made by Worldwin.

Here I have used the newest line from Worldwin called Paper Layerz. It is printed patterns on the CutMates cardstock. I absolutely love them!

I also used my favorite tool, the I-rock by Imaginisce. On the butterflies I put on the little tear drop shape of the irock gems.

Thank You Card and the winner

First I will post the winner to my little fun guessing game the other day. Yes, we survived, but whew, glad it is over. The last one did not leave until 2:15 pm yesterday afternoon. I was exhausted last night. And so was the birthday boy. I think he went down at 9 o'clock last night.

Let's have some fun with this...

Okay, so this is the second post today. So, if you don't know already, my 12 year old son is having a sleepover birthday bash tonight. I don't know what in me thought that this was a better idea than for him to have a party at a loud, flashing light, laser tag game place. Anyway, I am sure the night will be quite interesting staying up with 9 pre-teen adolescent boys.

So, I thought I would have a little fun with it. I have a RAK of scrapbooking goodies taht I will give to the person that guesses the closest time to when they fall asleep. And if two guess correctly whomever guessed first will win.

I am not sure what the RAK will be but it will be at least $50 worth of stuff, from Imaginisce, GCD studios and others. I have a lot I can get rid of.

You can guess until 0800 CST tomorrow morning. I will post the winner tomorrow. Ready, set, go....

So twelve years ago today....

I was at Woman's Hospital in labor with my oldest child. I can't believe he is now 12 years old. Here he is. Not a great quality photo. It was taken with his ipod. He is a pretty good kid. I am really proud of him.

And you know what is funny? This is his favorite song right now:

So this tells me that good music stands the test of time. So I busted out the Stones and Led Zepplin and he screwed his nose up. Really? He said that music sucks, mom. So he likes this song by The Killers, because his friends do, but not "It's only rock n' roll" by the Rolling Stones. This is peer pressure at it's finest. There is a ring leader that says what is cool and the rest just follow and agree. I tried to tell him, share this song with your friends and tell them like you mean it that this is a cool song and you might be surprised what happens.

I mean the Rolling Stones is one of the best rock bands ever. I admit they were a bit before my time, but none-the-less, awesome!

I just wish I could instill all of my knowledge in his brain right now. I just hate all the peer pressure that he is facing right now. But I guess I can just try my best to guide him and he will have to make his own decisions. I just secretly hope he does not follow in his mom's steps. I was a bit of a party girl back in the day.

I remember walking to a final exam at LSU at 0700 in the morning with my Rolling Stones concert t-shirt on singing "It's only Rock & Roll", still feeling the "exuberance" from the night before and needless to say, I did not pass the exam because I had just gotten home from New Orleans from the concert. It was AWESOME!! And I am pretty sure this was what was on my t-shirt along with a bit of gradeau from the streets of New Orleans.

So that is all for today. I have to finish cleaning the house for the big sleep over birthday bash tonight.

And I wanted to thank you all for the supporting comments from my previous post. Yes, I am a scrapbooker at heart and I have to admit I have been timid in the past about sharing the "real" me on my blog because I was afraid it would hurt my chances of being on this design team or that design team, well no more. And you know what is funny? Since I have been posting more than just scrapbooking posts, I have had a lot of more hits on my blog. Funny, how that happens. Thank you so much for your support.

P.S. Did you catch one of the songs that was played on David Letterman last night by the band, it was by the Stones, "_itch".

Speaking of Mothers.........

So I know my post yesterday was a little deep. I guess it was a little too much for a couple of people at least because I have now lost some followers on my blog after that post. That is their option as this is mine to post what I feel on my blog. With that said. I would like to share a card that I made for my beautiful mother for Mother's Day. And I have to say that I am glad that my son's friend's mother had one last mother's day. I bet she was treated like a queen.

The printed papers I used were from a 6x6 card pad by LilyBee. I am really liking the card pad prints for my cards because they are a smaller print. The cardstock is by Worldwin. If you have not tried that cardstock, you really should. It cuts awesome on the Cricut (and I suppose any other die cut machine). It cuts clean and does not have fibers showing after the cut. The cardstock type that I used is the Cascata brand from Worldwin. And of course my trusty Irock from Imaginisce. I just love that tool. If you don't have one, you really need to get one. The Cricut carts that I used are Home Accents and Celebrate with Flourish Cartridges.

Questioning God....

yes, you read that right. I am questioning God right now. If you read my blog you are not used to me saying things like that. You are used to just scrapbooking, happy go lucky posts, well that is not my life right now. If you read the by line under my blog title it says "A blog about mostly my scrappy self and the life that goes with it". Well this is the "life that goes with it part".

As I was sitting in church this morning with my two older children, both boys, I heard them say the intentions at the end of the mass for the dead and they said the name of someone I knew. A mother of one of my 9 year old son's classmates. I know this woman. She would volunteer at school with me. I just can not even understand this. When I asked my son about it he said, "yeah, it is .....'s mother and he does not like to talk about it". Well I guess he doesn't. He is a 10 year old little boy whose mother just died. I just don't understand how God can take away a little boy's mother.

The last time I felt like this was when my 48 year old aunt died of breast cancer. She had an eight year old daughter at the time. Her son was 17 and her oldest daughter was married. I just don't understand this. Children need their mothers. When I questioned God when this happened years ago, both my mother and my brother (who is now a priest) said "God takes people when they are at their best". Okay I understand that, but what about the children and spouses that are left behind suffering? I just don't understand that.

Maybe that is why I am stone faced at work sometimes when it comes to death. I just don't deal very well with it when it is close to me. Right now I have tears in my eyes and I just can't stand the fact that this little boy is now without his living mother for the rest of his life. It just does not seem fair.....................

God, please help me understand.

Hippity, Hoppity Card Challenge

that is the name of this week's card challenge at the Die Cuttin' Diva's card challenge blog.

This week the challenge is all about Easter. So get out your electronic cutters and we would love to see eggs, bunnies, chicks, crosses, baskets, whatever Easter means to you. Then put your entry on Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post on the Diva's blog.

Here is my card for this particular challenge:

I used the Create with Flourish cartridge and an old paper line by Imaginisce. I had forgotten that I had it. It is called "For Peep's Sake". I just love it and I found a whole stash that I had. I even blinged out the cute little rabbit with my Irock.

This is a close up of the bunny. Notice I actually stacked the bling to make his eye dimensional. I used a pearl glam rock and then a black jewel and they stuck. I think the Irock is my favorite tool right now.

I am also entering this card in the monthly Imaginisce challenge on their blog. This month it is titled the Piece it Together challenge. The entry has to be a hand pieced item on your project and use over 75% Imaginisce products.

The cartridges that I used are Celebrate with Flourish (Bunny, basket, title), Accent Essentials (scalloped square cut), Plantin Schoolbook (grass).

Just Imagine with Cricut Expression Class

Do you need to learn about what all the bells and whistles on your Cricut Expression are for? Is your Cricut still in it's box collecting dust? If this sounds like you and you are in Louisiana I am teaching a beginning and intermediate Cricut Expression class at Scrappin Friendzee in Marrero, LA on April 9th.

The first class is from 10AM - 1PM and we will learn about all the functions and modes of this awesome machine. This is a hands on class so you will need to bring your Cricut Expression, a 12x12 Cricut Mat and the Plantin School book and Accent Essential cartridges if you have them.

The second class is from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM. We will use what we learned in the first class and make a double page birthday layout and a cute little gift box. We will also play with the Imaginisce I-top and I-rock tools.

There will be give aways during the classes and for signing up and paying for the classes you will have a chance at a prize pack of awesome scrapping goodies worth $50.

Here are the projects you will leave with after the second class. We will be using the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge so if you have it please bring it. We can share cartridges, but everyone needs their own Cricut mats.

I have also entered this layout in the montly challenge on the Imaginisce blog. This month is a Piece it Together Challenge. You must use 75% Imaginisce products and do a die cut pieced together. Of course I used my trusty Cricut Expression. I just love it.

A New Card (and a Giveaway)

Today's post will be short and sweet. I have a lot of things that I need to get done today and I have to work tonight so I have to try and get a nap in as well.

I just have a quick little card for a challeng on the Cricut Circle board. I believe we are suppossed to use the Just Because Cards cartridge. I really like that cartridge and they have a lot of cute images on it.

I like the little ducky on it. And do you recognize the patterned paper? Maybe not. It is an old Easter line by Imaginisce. I love it though. I came across it the other day and I have a whole stash of it. I really need to do some more cleaning up in my scraproom.

So, yesterday was my birthday and I had mentioned the day before that I was going to have a give away on my blog. Sorry it is a day late. It is just a few things that I am trying to purge and have extra of.

It is probably at least $35 worth of stuff so if you are interested all you have to do is

2) Leave a comment on this post guessing what the name of the line of patterned paper is that I used in my card above.

So when it rains, it pours...

I know I have been MIA for a couple of weeks. First Charlotte was sick. She just had a cold, but it knocked her down for a couple of days. Then my middle child, Jake got really sick. At first I thought he was just trying to get out from going to school, but by the second day I really believed him. By the third day we ended up at the doctor's office checking him for strep throat and by the fourth day we ended up in the emergency room because he was still running fever and was now complaining that his neck hurt. His pediatrician told me to take him to the emergency room to be evaluated for meningitis!! Yikes!! Of course the kids are now well. No meningitis either. And now....Neil has a torn up knee. He has torn his ACL so he started physical therapy rehab today to try and forgo surgery, but I really think that is coming soon.

So that is where I have been.

Can I tell you how much it has been killing me not to scrapbook.

I did manage to get a couple of cards done though.

Here is one that I did for the Die Cuttin' Divas card challenge blog:

This particular challenge was to use an "Unused, & unloved" cartridge. So basically use a cartridge that you have never used before. Sounds crazy, right? Why would you have a cartridge that you have never used. I am embarrassed to say, that I did. One of the perks of being on the Imaginisce DT last year was that we would occasionally get some other manufacturers products. And I did receive several Cricut cartridges from them.

The cartridge that I used in this challenge was the Robotz cartridge and the Simply Sweet font cartridge. I never thought I would use the Robotz cartridge, but I think my little robot turned out quite cute.

Welcome Little One...

This weeks challenge on the Die Cuttin' Diva's card challenge blog is all about the baby love. We were challenged to make a baby card with an animal die cut on it. This is what I came up with:

This is the title here. It is a bit pastel, but I love how it turned out. I used a font off of the Calligraphy font cartridge and the banners stickers are from Jenni Bowlin. The matching circle alphas are also Jenni Bowlin. The patterned papers and the twine are from Jillibean Soup. The twine is attached by one of my favorite tools, the i-rock by Imaginisce. These papers are from the Atomic Soup collection. I love using products out of context. It just shows you how versatile some companies are.

The little ducks are cut using the border feature and the Animal Kingdom cartridge. The ribbons are by Doodlebug. And of course one of my favorite adhesives is the 3-d foam that you can cut to exactly which size or shape you want by Glue Arts. I also used my Glue Glider Pro to stick the papers down. The cardstock is by Core'dinations (yellow and orange) and Worldwin (white). Black pen is by Copic.

Hoppy Birthday Card

Hey Everyone!! We are having beautiful weather here. I love it!! But if it is 80 degrees today what is July and August going to hold? I hate to find out.

Anyway, here is another card that I made for the Die Cuttin' Divas card challenge blog. We do a weekly challenge and at the end of the month there is a prize. The more times you particpate, the more chances you have to win.

Here is a card I made for the challenge a couple of weeks ago.

I used the new Berrylicious line from Imaginisce, my Cricut Expression and some fab Glue Arts dimensional adhesive and my Glue Glider pro and some Core'dinations cardstock. I also could not help myself and I blinged it out with my I-rock. The hot rocks in the jewel tones match the colors in this Berrylicious patterned paper very well. Do you think they did that on purpose or a happy accident? LOL!

The Cricut cuts are: Once upon a Princess cartridge - frog and crown, George and Basic Shapes cartiridge - Oval.

I also used my Fiskars border punch on the red cardstock.

A long overdue post and another card challenge...

Hey everyone. No, I have not dropped off the face of the earth, I have just been VERY busy. Between CHA, working and now jury duty who knows when life will be back to normal.

Anyway, I wanted to post about the new challenge that the Dive Cuttin' Divas Card Challenge blog is having this week. This is only the second official challenge and there is already a great response. And the more times you enter the more chance you have to win the monthly prize give away. This weeks challenge is all about "Love is in the Air". So go on and create anything that has to do with love in the form of a card, layout, altered project or anything crafty you can think of.

Here is my card for this week:

I used the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge on my Cricut Expression. Other products used were: Fancy Pants patterned papers, Glue Arts dimensional adhesive, Worldwin Cardstock, American Crafts thickers and the jewels were heat set by my I-rock (by Imaginisce).

Both of these ladies are super talented and I am honored to be part of their original design team for the Die Cuttin' Diva's card challenge blog.

It is a fairly simple card. I used the border cut (1" cut) from the Plantin School Book cartridge and a snowflake (2 1/2" cut) for the Accent Essentials cartridge (accent 15).

When Life Gives you Lemons....

make lemonade. Isn't that is how the saying goes? So I did and of course I made a layout. I have had these pictures of Charlotte for a while and I have been wanting to scrap them, but I did not have the right paper for it. I have had some of the Doodlebug "Bon Appetite" papers for a while and I just pulled them out when I saw the Doodlebug Vendor Challenge over at two peas in a bucket. They are giving away some cool prizes. I think the first place is their wall cupboard. I could sure use that. There are some good entries though. I just like the thrill of the contest. It would be a cool bonus to win something though.

I have to say that I really liked the diecut paper and the colors of this line just really pop off the page. I thoroughly enjoyed working with this line of papers.

These pictures were taken a while ago when I was at CHA in Anaheim, CA with Charlotte and my mom. We were eating lunch and the restaurant was a bit dark, but I loved them so I used them anyway. Mom, Charlotte and I were eating lunch with a friend of mine that I met online at Creativexpress.com. Her name is Meg. She is a fabulous cardmaker. If we lived closer together, I know we would scrapbook together. And Meg if you are reading this, do you recognize the photos? You took them. ;-).

I used my Cricut as well. You can always seem to find some sort of embellishment on your Cricut cartridges that you can use. The lemon and the title come from the "Just Because Cards" cartridge.

Keep your fingers crossed for me in the contest. I really need some more storage in my scraproom. It is a mess!! I have started cleaning it up, but it has a lot more mess in it that needs to be cleaned up.

Three Crazy Kids.....

layout share today. Today's post is going to be short. Here is a layout that I have had in the works for a couple of weeks. I took a short break from scrapping, but since my scrapbook room is getting cleaned up, I managed to finish a layout. And me cleaning out my scrapbook room means I will have a give away soon.

This layout is of my three kids watching a movie and eating popcorn. As you can see they can never sit calmly, together, for any length of time. I used the Garden Party line from Imaginisce because the colors of their clothes matched the colors of the papers. I also noticed that the colors of the metallic glam rocks matched the colors of the Garden Party line. I wonder if that was intentional. Pretty cool, huh?

Did you notice that the little one is sneaking her brother's popcorn?

See how the metallic glam rocks match the colors of the papers so well? I also blinged out the flowers on the sticker with my i-rock.

That is all for today. I am working on some other projects for some classes that I am going to be teaching at a local scrapbook store here in Louisiana.

Things are finally starting to slow down a bit here. Thank goodness!! There is nothing like having a day off with nothing that you absolutely have to do. My next project is to clean up my scrapbook room. My two son's got me a couple of rolling storage racks from Christmas so I figured that was a hint to clean up my room. And it really needs it!! With no impending deadlines, I think I will devote a few days to getting that done. And then back to crafting!!! Why is it, when the room needs to be cleaned out is when I feel the most inspired to craft?! OH well, I really need to clean it up. So I am. I also have a new light box to photograph my projects with so they should look much better.

I do have one layout to share. I really like how it turned out. I had submitted it to Creating Keepsakes, but it did not make the cut so I am going to share it here with you.

I used the Enchanted line by Imaginisce. Funny that this is a "girly" line and I used it for a boy layout.

I used my irock here to highlight the little frog he was holding.

That is it for today. I will have more crafty projects coming up soon, after I get my scrap room cleaned up. And with me cleaning up my room, that means I will be needing to get rid of some supplies, which means I will have some more give aways so stay tuned.

Feeling a little down....

but I know I need to get some perspective about this. If you follow my blog you may have noticed a few changes on it. The badge that says "Imaginisce Design Team Member" is now listed under "Past Design Teams" and yes that means that I was not asked to return to the Imaginisce design team for 2011. After letting it sink in for a few days I know that the new girls are super excited and I know how they feel. I felt on cloud nine last year at about this time. And then I had to ask myself, why does this mean so much to me? I mean, why do I scrapbook in the first place? There is something about having someone else tell you "Your work is good" and I want to show you off for it. And if you don't scrapbook, you may not understand the excitement you get when you are asked to be on a design team of this magnitude, but it feels absolutely great!!! Someone else out there has validated that you "do good work". And the design team coordinator, Lori, is absolutely fabulous!!! But in all reality that should not matter to me. Like I just previously asked, "why do I scrapbook"? And the answer I cam up with was I really like taking pictures of my family and making "storybook" pages for us.

Now, the getting to the perspective part. With everything going on in the world, I now feel pretty selfish that I pouted about this for the past couple of days. I just recently found out that a friend of mine, Heather B., has found out that she has cancer. I was shocked!! She is married and has two beautiful little girls. I bet all she wished she had to worry about was whether or not she was going to make or stay on her next design team. And she is an awesome scrapbooker. Drop by her blog and tell her hi and say a prayer for her and her family while you are at it. I am sure she would appreciate it.
There are also so many people I know that have lost their jobs and are really struggling financially. Neil and I both have our jobs and we are making it okay. It could always be better, but who could not say that. Again, I need to get perspective.

So that is all for today. I will be posting projects again soon. In fact I have two in the Que for Imaginsice design team projects, but it has been a little tough to work with it over the past couple of days. They will get done though.

I promise, I won't be gone too long. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I will be getting back to my "Storybooking" soon.................

Garden Party Shadow Box

Hey everyone! In keeping with the spirit of the Imaginisce Garden Party launch this week I wanted to show you another project that I did. I made one of the Tim Holtz configurations boxes and decked it out with Garden Party. I just love how it turned out.

The butterfly was cut with my Cricut.

Here I used the new Floral Flourish flowers and topped them with the cool mesh brads. And in the top right corner of the box, I actually tool apart one of the sticker stackers and just used the top sentiment to place in it's cubby. The chipboard flowers I decked out with some i-rock gems.

Here I used some of the pink roly rosies to put in the left corner.

Now I had to drive over 70 miles to find the little feet because no local store around her had any. I just think the little feet finish it off nicely.

Garden Party Cards

Hey Everyone! Since this week is the Imaginisce's "Garden Party" release party, I just wanted to show you some quick little all purpose cards that I did.

These large flowers are the die cuts that come in this collection. I also used the 6x6 card pad for the small prints. They are just absolutely fantastic! I also used the snag 'em stamps to stamp a little flower image in the corner of the envelopes.

And the center here, I used the trusty i-rock with clear gems. Our design team coordinator, Lori, reminded us last night that with the Copic markers you could actually color the clear gems to get your desired color. Since the Copic markers are made with alcohol ink it colors and stays on the gems quite nicely. I don't know why I have not thought to mention this before. I have done it to color gems red. The marker I used here was almost a neon orange color, YR07, Cadmium Orange.

I have found that you need to use some of the more vibrant or darker colors to achieve a slightly lighter color. These markers are pretty cool. They can color anything that alcohol ink can color. You can even air brush with them.

I know these markers are a bit pricey, but they are refillable thereby beating the price of anything else out there. So once you refill the marker, you really have a great value.

On the 5th day of Christmas....Advent Calendar

Good morning! Today, Sam Hauzer and I of the Imaginisce DT had the pleasure of blogging for the 5th day of Christmas post today. Our projects are the Kaiser Craft Advent Calendar embellished up with the Cottage Christmas line from Imaginisce.

Here is mine:

Here is a close up of some of the chipboard stickers that I embellished with my i-rock tool.

Close up of the tree. I used my i-top punches for the tree branches.

Here are few of the steps in making the Kaiser Craft calendar.

1) I painted the calendar after putting it together. It took about 2 1/2 coats to really cover all the wood.

2) Next, I sprayed a little of "Walnut Gold" glimmer mist to give it a gold shimmer.

3) Then I put the little boxes together and painted them with spray paint.

4) Next I just covered the front of the boxes with paper from the Cottage Christmas 6x6 card pad. I liked the small prints for this. I used a 3/4" circle punch to punch out a small cut out at the top part of the box for the finger hole.

5) Next, after cutting out a Christmas tree shape with chipboard on my cricut, I punched out all three sizes of the i-top punches for my tree branches and glued them on the tree. Then I trimmed the edges off.

And here I am showing you how to cover your i-top brads with fabric. I used a red felt and since you can not punch the fabric, there is a template that you can use to trace the circles onto the fabric and then cut the material out to use on your i-top brads.

It is not as bad as we thought...

Just an update on Cameron's separated shoulder. It is grade a "1 out of 6" and it should heal on it's own. He has to wear a splint for a couple of weeks, but his pain is much better.

That is all for today. I am glad it was not worse. He did try to get out of going to school today after his Orthopaedic appointment. He almost had me too, but I stayed strong.

I-top innovations by Imaginisce

Hey my crafty friends. Today, I just have a quick little project that is just so adorable and quick to make. When I say quick I am talking 5 minutes or less and just perfect for little girls.

If you have not seen what Imaginisce has going on with their i-top tool, they have come out with some new "Innovations" to go along with their i-top. The innovations consist of snap rings, alligator clips, bobby pins and head bands. And you can either use the snap daddies or the twist daddies. Today, I made a customized headband for my little girl.

I tried to get a better picture of her face, but she kept running from me.

So what I used was:

It took me less than 5 minutes to make this adorable head band.

December Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

Yes, it is that time again. It is time for the monthly sketch challenge from Imaginisce. I just love working with sketches and this one is done by DT member Liz Qualman. So if you follow the Imaginisce blog you know that they give away a lot of prizes and this month is no different.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch. I altered it a bit and made a two page layout out of it.

This is my youngest son playing in the snow. The thing that makes this so special is that it is a RARE treat that we have snow here in south Louisiana. Especially snow that actually sticks to the ground and they can play with it. Here he is making a "snow kid" out of the snow. He said since the snowman was close to his size that it was a "snow kid" and not a man.

Close up of the title here. I used the cricut cart Accent Essentials with the blocked out snow flakes, and some American Crafts fabric thicker letters. I also sprayed a bit of the marshmallow colored glimmer mist on the "snow" letters. In person it just looks a little shimmery, but you may not be able to see that in this picture.

Here I used the cottage Christmas accents snowflake crystals and layered it with the Cottage Christmas snowflake glitz.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Okay, so I am a day late, but Happy Thanksgiving to all my american friends!!! And to everyone else who braved the "Black Friday" sales, hope you found some good deals. We found some online and I am quite happy with that. It has been a nice day to be able to just sit around the house and shop online. I even got to scrap a bit.

And speaking of scrapping, I have a quick little project to share with you. This is a little home decor project that I made with the new Pop up posies by Imaginisce. These are some pre-cut flowers that you just glue together to make a smaking embellishment.

I made this little bouquet for a friend of mine who is having a baby girl very soon.

The flower centers are made with using felt in my i-top brad maker. Then I topped it off with a little bling from my i-rock. I inked the edges, curled the petals with my petal roller and then hot glued the flowers to some floral stems. I put some glass marbles in a little vase and addes some green tissue paper on top of the marbles and then placed the stems in the vase.

So that is all for now. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving and I will be back next week. I have to work a few days in row so I am going to be busy.

Hey Scrappers. So for all those that participated in the festive activities of Halloween I hope you have recovered. For us, I think the kid's candy will disappear, little by little. And check it out, we went trick or treating in a friend's neighborhood and a dentist, of all people, was handing out cotton candy in addition to the candy. Guess he was trying to drum up some business?!!!

Photo frame with Imaginisce Roly Rosies

If you are in the craft world, you know that paper flowers are all the rage right now. And Imaginisce has made making these adorable flowers very easy with the introduction of their new Roly Rosies and Pop-up Posies.

I tried my hand at making these are they are super easy to put together. All you need it the petal roller from Imaginisce and a hot glue gun. The directions are on the back of the package, but basically all you have to do, after punching out the flower from the package, is to put the end of the flower in the slot on the end of the petal roller and roll the flower up. Then you slip the petal roller out. Shape the flower how you want it and then glue the center of the flower down the base of the flower. Really easy to do.

So I made a cute little picture frame for a friend of mine that is about to have a baby girl.

I used a 4x6 wooden frame sanded it and painted it with some acrylic craft paint. I then added a little glitter glaze to the painted finish for a little sparkle. I hot glued the Roly Rosies (pink of course) in one of the corners of the frame and added a couple of leaves. I cut the baby girl's name out by using my cricut expression. I used the welding the shadow letters technique to make her name. And lastly I added a little Stickles to add some more sparkle to the flowers.

A home fall decor plaque

Hey everyone. With fall now if full swing, I thought I should show you a fast home decor piece that I made for Imaginisce. It was pretty quick to make and I loved how it turned out.

On this project, I had a little wooden oval plaque (Kaisercraft), that I painted with a burnt orange paint. Next I used some of the Tim Holtz distress inks to "distress" the look of the paint. Next, I cut out the cornucopia from my Lite Cricut cartridge Celebrate with Flourish. I believe this image was about 4" tall.

It did take a few tries to make sure I had all the paper layers the right color for the corresponding fruit or vegetable, but I think I got it pretty straight. Then I used some of my cuttlebug embossing folders to add texture to some of my layers. After gluing all the pieces together, I then pop dotted the cornucopia and placed it on my plaque.

And to finish it off, I used some of the Imaginisce Apple Cider "Be Blessed" rubons.

So that is it. It was pretty simple to do and I really like how it turned out. I think I am definitely going to put it out at Thanksgiving for sure.

Diggin' for Dinos Imaginisce

Hey scrappers! Today's post will be short and sweet. Here is a double page layout that I did using the Imaginisce Dino Roar line and my newly acquired Dinosaur Tracks cricut cartridge. I took these photos when we visited the Whitey museum in San Antonio, TX. They had a cool dinosaur exhibit there. This was one of the play areas with an "excavation" pit.

I made the diecut shape by using my Cricut Design Studio software. Basically I welded triangles to the outside edge of a square on the George and Basic shapes cartridge. So if you don't have this cartridge, any cartridge with a basic square and triangle will do just fine. I also had to rotate the triangles at 90 deg, 180 deg, and 270 deg. before welding so the point of the triangle would be sticking away from the square to have the point on the outside.

Next, I just cut the shape in half down the middle and split it up on either page.

This is one of the fossil die cuts on the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge. I did outline the inner edge of the fossil shape just to make the dinosaur shape stand out a little more. I also put i-rock metallic pearl studs on the "brush".

It felt like Christmas to me so since I am years behind I did a Christmas layout. I used the Cottage Christmas line by Imaginisce. I also dusted off the oldie but goody, Tags, Bags, Boxes and more Cricut cartridge to cut the tag out. I altered the size a little to make the tag longer with my Cricut Design Studio. I just love that software.

"Party Time" with Imaginisce and Cricut

Hey y'all!!! Whew, busy, busy, like everyone, I am sure. Anyway, today's post I am showing a fairly simple double page birthday layout. Birthdays come around every year and you usually have a lot of pictures. So on this layout I am placing 6 4x6 photos on it (slightly trimmed).

This type of format can also be used for any type of event where you have more than 5 photos taken.

Here I used some felt in my I-top tool. I love using fabric to make the brads because it makes such a nice smooth brad. I also used my i-rock to add a little bling to the pom pom on my birthday hat with the metallic glam rocks.

Here I used the Birthday Bash sticker glass. These stickers are cool because the background is silver.

And here is part of the title that I cut using my Cricut Expression. Love that machine!!! The carts that I used were the Simply Charmed cart to make the birthday hat, "Party" and the balloons, and the font is from the Robotz cart.

I really like using my Cricut with the patterned paper that I am working with because then the title matches so well.

Oh, one more thing, I will be teaching this layout (along with another double page birthday layout) at a local scrapbook store, Scrappin Friendzee in Marrero, Louisiana. Imaginisce Dino Roar Release Party!!!

If you have not looked at the Imaginisce blog this week yet, they are having a release party for the adorable new "Dino-Roar" line.

So to add to the hype about the Dino-Roar line I am showing one of my Dino-Roar projects. We had this picture taken at the Natural Bridge Caverns in Texas. I even busted out the Cricut Expression with the super cool Dinosaur Tracks cartridge that Provo Craft sent to the Imaginisce design team. I can't tell you how much I have loved being on this team.

Anyway, I got a little side tracked. So here is the layout:

Part of the title here using the Jasmine Font cartridge and the new Robotz cartridge. Not only does it have the cute robots, but it has this awesome font on it. I love it!!

Did you notice that I used the metallic irock gems on the title? And if you are interested in how I shadowed the title I will clue you in.

On the "Natural" title using the Jasmine font cartridge I welded the letters using the shadow feature with my Design Studio. Then I just cut out the regular letters the same size and then put them on the welded shadow word. This technique makes it look like the entire title is welded and shadowed, which is something that is pretty difficult to do and keep the spacing right.

Technique two: When there is a font that does not have a block out feature available, you can simulate it yourself by using the Cricut Design Studio and "Hide Selected Contour" feature. As you may have guessed the Dionsaur Tracks cartridge has a cool font, but no block out feature to back the title so I did it myself.

All you need to do after you cut your title first while using your Design Studio is to go back and select what you want "hidden" and then right click on it and select "hide selected contour". Then you cut. The part that is selected is blocked out and not cut out. On this title I selected the centers of the letters and that made the backing of the letters the perfect match for the letters.

Now, let me just show you what I am talking about with a picture:

The colored letters in the center will not cut now and you will have a perfect backing for your letters.

Take the (Cottage) Christmas Card challenge!!!

Hello everyone!! A couple of months ago Lori, the Imaginisce DT coordinator, issued a challenge to start making your Christmas cards before November. So, for once, I actually did this and not only did I take her challenge, but I managed to get 18 handmade Christmas cards made. And last year, I don’t even remember if I mailed Christmas cards. (I know, shame on me).

So, I am going to share with you how I made mine. And believe me, if I can make cards, then you can. I am not much of a card maker, or a stamper for that matter, and I did both. With a few sheets of cardstock, 6x6 card pad, stamps, and a few punches you can make some cute handmade Christmas cards.

First the supplies I used:

Cottage Christmas 6x6 Card Pad

(3) 12x12 sheets each of (3) different cardstocks (coordinate with patterns in card pad)

(1) 12x12 sheet of white cardstock

(3) Christmas Cottage Snag’em stamps (Snow flakes, Holly Berry, Tree Trim)

Stayzon ink

Acrylic stamping block

Variety of Coloring Markers (I used Copic)

2” & 2 ½” Scalloped Circle Punches

I-rock tool & gems and studs

Adhesive

Foam Adhesive

Optional: Border Punches (3 styles)

Now the assembly:

1) I picked out (2) each of three different patterns of the papers in the 6x6 Cottage Christmas card pad and then picked the coordinating snag’em stamps that went with the patterned papers.

2) Then I selected three different colors of cardstock that would match all three of the patterns. I choose a light blue, Christmas red, and a kraft color. Cut (2) pieces of each 12x12 cardstock into 8 ½” x 5 ½” and then fold in half. You should have 6 of each color.

3) Save the cardstock scraps. You will use them on the cards.

4) Cut 1 ½” strips of the patterns and glue to the center of the cards width wise.

5) Punch out (18) 2” scalloped circles from the white cardstock. Stamp (6) each of the three different stamps. Color in your stamped images. Ink the edges of the scallop circles.

6) Now take the leftover cardstock strips from cutting the cards and use a border punch on them and layer over the patterned paper strip on the front of the card.

7) Decorate your card or stamped image with the i-rock tool, crystals and glam rocks.

8) Use foam tape to adhere the stamped images to the cards.

That is it!!! I used the same pattern, but the cards were all similar.

Another Local Scrapbook Store Closing.......

Sorry for the long break. The kids are now back in school and we are finally settling down a bit here. And I have not even scrapped for weeks now. Talk about going through withdrawals!!!

So anyway, this will be a short post. I just wanted to point out that Imaginisce is on "Good Things Utah" today. So if you're local to Utah, be sure to tune in to channel 4 at 11:00am. And for those of you not local, Imaignisce will post the video clip back in this post on the blog later today. The segment is going to be by Brett Lund and he is doing a feature on the I-rock tool and using it on Christmas Cards using the Cottage Christmas collection.

Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

Well, this post is a day late, but none the less, it is here. Imaginisce is having their monthly sketch challenge on the Just Imagine! blog. This month's sketch is by DT member Sarah de Guzman. It is an easy sketch to follow and you can bust the layout (or card) out in probably 30 minutes or less.

I used the Apple Cider collection on this layout. I had previously done a similar one with the same picture. In fact the die cut scalloped paper is from the left overs of this layout. And the beauty of having two kids in the same picture is that I can make a similar layout for each of their books.

First Haircut

Well I finally mustered up the courage to get Charlotte's first hair cut. She has been telling me "no" for a couple of months now, so I finally just had to do it.

I really thought us waiting for 45 minutes and her playing before hand would soften her up. But alas, I was wrong.

This is the "before" shot.

Notice the little "purse" of beads in her hand. Yes, that is a bribe to get her to sit there. I know, shameless. What can I say.

and the "after" shots. I thought they would put a bow in or something, but that was an additional $10. Yikes!!! I was just glad to get out of there without a meltdown.

She was very resistant and told the hair dresser "no" to everything she asked her. (This is why she is not wearing the drape over her clothes to keep the cut hair off of her).

Overall, she did pretty good, I must say. Now, I just need to figure out how to fix it. At least it is not always in her face now.

Can't wait to make this scrapbook page...........

A little Imaginisce "Apple Cider" Inspiration

Anyway, I thought I would post a little of my own Apple Cider inspiration today. This is just a simple 12x12 single photo layout. This picture was taken a few years ago when my youngest son was in day care. This was a picture at there annual "Fall Fest" celebration for the kids.

I even dusted off my Cricut Expression for this layout. If you know me, then you know I love my Cricut!! I used the Storybook cartridge for both the title (Fall) and the cut out marquee shape. I did manipulate the marquee shape with my Cricut Design Studio software to make it the shape I wanted.

I added a few metallic pearl glam rocks to the title and as accents to my page with my I-rock tool.

Birthday Party Favor

This week Imaginisce is having a "Birthday Bash" release party on their blog. And what is a good party without good party favors? I have a cute little project that I made that is pretty inexpensive that can be given at parties for a favor to the guests.

Seriously, this cost me less than the treat bags that I normally give filled with cheap, plastic toys that get thrown away the minute the kids get home. Let me break it down for you.

I-rock jewel hot rocks: $12.99 for the compact of 800 gems. Total number of gems used was 128 so the cost associated with that is $2.08.

The total cost per frame is just $3.34 a piece. Not bad for a hand crafted item that will not be thrown away as soon as the kids get home. And keep in mind the packs of the rubons and stickers have different images, but that will make each of the frames unique and special for that child. You will also have left over paint, glitter glaze and the fabulous hot rock gems.

The kids will have a lasting keepsake to put their own picture in or one that was taken at the party.

A "Birthday Bash" Celebration (and a layout, of course)

Okay, I am the first one to admit that scrapbooking events like birthdays and Christmas is a tedious, monotonous task for me. These events come yearly and it is really hard to come up with something "new and different" to say about them. With that disclaimer said, I am now feeling a little different about scrapping birthdays. I know I am a little biased, but Imaginisce has come out with a fantastic new line called "Birthday Bash". It is not the typical colors that you see in birthday paper lines. And some of their new embellishments are just awesome!! Very different from others that I have seen.

This week on the Just Imagine! blog they are having a "Birthday Bash" release party. You really need to check it out. And you know how Lori (our DT coordinator) likes to give stuff away. I would be willing to bet there is a give away or two this week.

Here is one of my projects that I did using this fabulous line.

An Imaginisce Sketch challenge

Whew, glad to be back from vacation. How come you always feel like you need a vacation after a vacation? Seriously, I think it is fun for the kids, but the parents have to worry about entertaining everyone and getting them there on time, etc. We had fun, but I am glad to be home.

Well it is the first of the month and that means that Imaginisce is having another sketch challenge. They switched it up a bit this month and provided a card sketch by Tammy Wark from the Imaginisce DT.

I am not much of a card maker so I welcomed this easy to do sketch. Here is my take on it.

I used papers from the To Love & Cherish line and the sticker sentiment and envelope is from the Imaginisce card pack.

Another To Love and Cherish Imaginisce Project

I could not, for the life of me, figure out what these little "rings" are called. You know the little drink rings that you put around the stem of a glass at a party so you don't loose your drink. I made these as a gift for someone that likes to entertain. They were pretty easy to do and a little blast to the past using "shrinky dink" plastic.

So the first think I did was to stamp on the shrinky plastic with one of the To Love & Cherish snag 'em stamps. The one I used is the flower. After I cut out the flowers I shrunk them in the toaster oven. This took about 3 minutes.

Next I has to enlist the help of my husband and he got his drill press out with a very tiny drill bit and we drilled holes into the one of the petals on the flowers so I could put the jump ring through.

Then I colored my flowers with my Copic markers and then set a flower center with my I-rock tool and Jewel hot rocks.

And lastly I threaded the large ring through the jump ring and bent the end up so the ring would stay intact around the stem of the glass. I think these were earring rings like the kind you find in the bead section of a craft store.

So that is it. It really is not too complicated and a pretty inexpensive handmade gift for a friend.

Splashin' into Summer with Imaginisce

Well I guess Summer is in full swing now. I know it is in the South. I think it will be in the 90's today. I just love the warm weather. That is why I live in the south. I love Louisiana for all it's culture, seafood and LSU and New Orleans Saints football. I guess the seafood might be on hold for this year because of the oil spill that British Protroleum has caused but hopefully in the near future it will be up and running.

Imaginisce has just released an adorable Summer/Beach line and I found some more summer "splashin'" pictures that are perfect for it.

We were on vacation last year in Orlando, Florida at my parent's time share. Jake could not swim to well so he hung on to his swim noodle and he had just as much fun as everyone else.

I used the Splash Dance collection from Imaginisce. I also used my I-rock in a few spots. And the sand dollar is cut from my Cricut using the Life is a Beach cartridge with some of the Whitewash Core'dinations cardstock. Letter stickers are American Craft and small letter stickers are Cosmo Cricket.

A new Sketch with Imaginisce

Black Magic with Imaginsce and Core'dinations

So did the title catch your eye? What I am talking about is the fantastic cardstock called "Black Magic" by Core'dinations. I remember when this cardstock was released. It is such a cool concept. The top layer is black and if you sand it another color comes through. It makes a cool distressing technique.

This layout, I have already shown, but I just want to really focus on the closeups since it really shows what this innovative cardstock can do.

Here I lightly sanded the black paper and you can see the orange coming through.

And here, again, I sanded the front side of the Black Magic cardstock and then used it on an I-top brad and put some stickles on it for a little extra shine.

And here, I am showing you a little bit of a distressed edge (top right part of photo), I used an edge distresser and it makes a nice "distressed" looking edge on the photo matte. And did you notice the Irock pearl glam rocks?

Here is the final layout. I used the To Love and Cherish line by Imaginisce and on the top strips of the patterned paper I colored in a few flowers with my Copics.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout again. I just wanted to reshow the close ups so you could see what this fantastic cardstock is all about.

Flyin' high with Imaginisce and Core'dinations

Several weeks ago I took my oldest and my youngest to a kite festival in a nearby town. I managed to get some pretty fantastic photos while we were there and I have even shown them to you already. In fact, one of the photos got picked up to be in an online article for Creating Keepsakes. And I did not even know until it was published. Crazy, huh? So let me show you what I did with those photos.

This week Imaginisce and Core'dinations are having a week long blog swap with the DT's. I talked about it yesterday some, so today I would like to continue with it. Today I am showing a layout that I did with the core essentials cardstock from Core'dinations. What is so cool about this paper is that it has an inner color core that "coredinates" with the outer color. So you can sand it, tear it, emboss it or just leave it unfinished like I did.

I really like how this layout turned out. And I even used my new favorite tool, the irock. Do you think I got carried away with the gems a little bit. It seems to be addicting, so consider yourself warned. LOL!

Imaginisce and Core'dinations Cardstock Blog Swap Week

Well, despite my computer issues. I have finally found a way to post onto blogger. Uuughh..It is my computer so I am on an old dinosaur one at my house and it seems to be working just fine. Anyway, I am a little late to talk about it, but in case you have not noticed Imaginisce and Core'dinations DT's are having a blog swap this week. If you know me then you know that I already love Imaginisce products, but it sure is cool to get some other free products to work with as well.

Core'dinations sent the entire Imaginisce DT three huge packs of cardstock. One was the Gemstones (my favorite, by far), one was the Trifecta (Black Magic, Core essentials and Vintage) and one was the Ebony and Ivory pack (Black Magic, WhiteWash, and Core essentials). I have used all of them and let me say, I LOVE this paper!!! So Core'dinations, if you are listening (or reading this), I am cheap labor if you want to send some more my way. LOL!! A little shameless beg there. Anyway.........here are some of my projects that I did with both of these fab companies products.

Butterfly Love and a cool new tool

I just love new scrapbooking tools. Although I have to admit that I am usually not the first to jump on the bandwagon for the latest and greatest scrapbooking products. But this tool is so cool, I just thought that I might make and exception. I am talking about the new irock tool from Imaginisce. I just happened to get one in the mail the other day (one of the perks of being on the DT) and I have already tried it out.

Let me show you what I did with it.

The gems that I used on this layout is the pearl glam rocks.

This tool is pretty easy to use, but I must warn you that it does get VERY HOT.

On this layout I used the To Love & Cherish line from Imaginisce. I also used some fabulous Core'dinations cardstock where you can sand the front side of the paper and another color show through. This is the Black Magic paper. And on the top strip of patterned paper I used my Copic markers to color in a few of the flowers. I also dusted off my Cricut Expression. I cut the title and the butterfly with my Cricut. Oh, and did you notice the I-top brads in the middle of the flowers? I sanded the paper a little and then put some of the ice stickles for a little added shine.

Mother's of Angels

If you are a mother, I know you probably can not imagine the pain that incurs if you loose a child unless you have actually lost one. Imaginisce came across an organization called Mother's of Angels that uses scrapbooking to help ease the grief of loosing a child. Here is a brief summary of what they do. This is taken from the Imaginisce blog. I wanted to help them spread the word since this is such a good cause and Imaginisce is so good to me. You rock!

They tell of a story of a mother, named Marcie, that lost her teenage son. Eventually she found her way back to scrapbooking and it helped her through the grieving process. She started a group called the Mother of Angels where scrapbooking supplies were dropped off (donated) at her local scrapbook store and these supplies were used to help grieving mothers.
Here at Imaginisce our Mission Statement says, "Helping people remember, focus on, and celebrate what matters most." We believe to our core that scrapbooking is not just about buying, collecting and storing a lot of scrapbook supplies. Scrapbooking is all about "remembering AND celebrating what matters most." The example of the Mothers of Angels group is in line with what Imaginisce hopes to be in this amazing industry and we praise these brave women for allowing us to be a part of there story. Thank you!

A few cards

Yes, you heard me right. I actually made some cards. 4 to be exact. A little set. They were pretty simple to make. So here are the pics:

First I cut four pieces of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" paper and then folded in half. Next I layered some of the gemstone cardstock and a 1/2" strip of coordinating patterned paper on top of the colored cardstock.

Next I punched out four scalloped circles and then used one of the Imaginisce To Love & Cherish snag 'em stamps. I stamped the image in glue on the scalloped circle and then sprinkled a little glitter on the stamped image and tapped the excess away.

Then I pop dotted the scalloped circle on top of the strips of cardstock and patterned paper. And last I adhered a little ribbon on the bottom edge of the gemstone cardstock.

Pretty easy. I took about 15 minutes for all four to be completed.

18 Years & To Love & Cherish Release Party

This week is the Imaginisce "To Love & Cherish" Release party on the Just Imagine blog. Check it out. Free scrap goodies are involved.

So here is one of my projects for the release party. This line is intended for wedding photos, however I choose a different route to use it for. This layout was inspired by a present that my mother did for my grandmother a few years ago. She had portraits of me, her, my grandmother and my great-grandmother all at the age of 18 years old and she placed them in a frame. It really turned out quite beautiful. This family heirloom will eventually be mine, but it is currently in the hands of my grandmother so it might be a while. Being an avid scrapbooker, I made my own version. The To Love & Cherish line is absolutely perfect for this.

I-top Tool Maintenance

Like any good tool to keep it useful you need to do a little maintenance. Here are a few tips from Imaginisce to keep your I-top in tip "top" shape.

Click on the full-color image above and print out for easy reference.

1. Tighten Heads Before Use: Tighten the pink rubber heads with a simple twist BEFORE you begin...every time! The heads will not line up correctly if they're not tight...and when using the tool you might accidentally move the heads and not realize that you've loosen them.

2. Position Pink Rubber Heads: Often the small rubber head gets pushed down when removing the brad and needs to be repositioned, or pulled out into place. Check its placement before starting. If you find that your rubber heads are defective (torn, broken) please contact our customer service for a replacement.

3. Tighten Top Screws with Allen Wrench: The top screws on both sides of the tool can become loose with use or when being transported. We recommend that you use a 3mm Allen Wrench to tighten those screws periodically. But do not tighten them too tight or you will not be able to rotate the heads.

Now you are an i-top pro and should able to create many, many more brads, magnets, badges and buttons...maybe even more ideas we're creating!! If you have questions or concerns about your tool, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service by phone or email (contact@imaginisce.com).

Let's Rock! Wall Hanging

Okay, so about a month ago, the Imaginisce design team girls started posting their "Live Loud" collection projects. One of them that really inspired me was a project by Melinda Spinks. She did a layout made out of an old vinyl LP. It was fantastic. I can't show it to you because she is having it published, but it was really a cool layout. And another one of the Imaginisce design team girls did a paper layout with an old vinyl 45 on it. This was Shemaine Smith. You ought to check her blog out as well. Very creative. (She even gave me the idea to repurpose my old chipboard letters). Here is her layout.

So I started thinking, this was such a great collection and it has such fun images of the old vinyl records and cassette tapes and how fun would it be to make a wall hanging with old vinyl 45 records. So I bought some off of ebay and this is what resulted:

I will post the tutorial soon. It really was not that hard. So thanks for the inspiration girls. And thanks Imaginisce for such a fun collection.

Kite Festival

On a whim today, my parents asked me if I would like to take the kids to the kite festival in a nearby town. We really had a fun time. Here are some pictures that I took. I know I must have looked pretty funny lying down on the ground to get the shot, but I did not care. LOL!!!

I am already envisioning the scrapbook layout for this one. (Yes I was lying on the ground).

She was actually flying the kite.

And Cameron flailing down the large inflatable slide. He really loved this.

About a week ago..........

I found out that I am getting a layout published in the upcoming Memory Makers "Big Book of Scrapbook Ideas". It is not due out until May 2011, so you will have to wait to see my layout. I have to say though it is of one of my favorite "subjects". And it features the cute line of "Lucy Bird" by Imaginisce.

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Expedition Rocks!

Okay, this week Tombow Adhesive and Imaginisce are having a blog swap. The nice folks at Tombow sent the Imaginisce Design team a box full of adhesive. What a treat! After all a scrapbooker can never have too much adhesive. The little glue pen that they make works awesome when using diecut letters. The pen is so easy to control and the tip is just the right size for small letter cuts. So anyway, let me show you what I did with their fantastic adhesive!!

Like many of you, I have a thousand Disney pictures still waiting to get into the books. One of our first experiences at Disney World was to go to the Animal Kingdom. At the end of every day they have a parade and this one is called "Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Expedition". It was very fun and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a ton of pictures so I decided to make a collage out of all of them.

The papers I used here were from the Imaginisce "Live Loud" Collection. This collection has such vibrant and fun colors. Teals, greens, blues, oranges. Check it out. It has a music "rock and roll" theme, but I thought it went well with the colors from the costumes that were being worn in the parade.

Don't get me wrong, I love it all, I am just slow to try new things (sometimes). Well on this layout I did try something a little different for me, Glimmer Mist. I know, I know, stop the presses....and this product is not "new". See what I mean, "I am slow to try new things". Anyway, here it is.

I wanted this layout to look like I had splattered paint on it, so that is where the Glimmer Mist comes in. Tell me, what do you think?

Come on, did I get the point across or does it just look "messy" to you? And when is the last time you stepped out on a limb? Thought out of the box? I would love to see it. I can't tell you how many times my kids have fallen asleep in the car after a long vacation. These pictures were taken from my iPhone so they are not the best quality, but actually they are not too bad.

And here is a close up of the title. I used rubons on top of the dimensional sticker.

I also like to use the I-top punches for some punched shapes. I think they are fun. It sure was quite in the car when I took these photos.

I hope this layout inspires you. The next time you have a chance to take these photos, go for it.

"One Lazy Dog" Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

Well Imaginisce is at it again. They are posting another sketch challenge for March on the Just Imagine blog. Check it out. They even have the February winner posted.

This months sketch is created by the very talented Erin Basset.

Here is my take on the sketch. I rotated it a bit. I used the Scooter's Vacation line from Imaginisce. I have been known to say that I would never scrapbook my pets as long as I was behind on scrapping my family (which I am by the way), but I have eaten my words. This line is just too cute not to scrap the new family pet. Cameron got her for Christmas. She is from the local animal control shelter. I have to say, we have had pure breads in the past, but she is the best dog.

So I am a little late in wishing this, but the DT coordinator for Imaginisce had a birthday yesterday and I just wanted to give her a big shout out!! So Happy Birthday Lori!!! I really enjoy being part of the Imaginisce Team and knowing you.

If I lived closer I would give this to you to wear.
